Writing Daily for Blogtober: An Exeriment

It is already October 8, so technically I’m late, but I liked the idea of daily writing too much to wait until next year. So I’m treating this as an experiment.

The idea came from a YouTube creator I have been following for years. Every October, she does something she calls Youtober, where she posts videos daily. It’s not something she normally does the rest of the year. She just uses the month to create more, share whatever feels valuable to her, and have fun with it.

Watching her do that made me realize that maybe I should also go where my creative energy naturally wants to go.

For me, that’s writing.

I want to try writing daily this October, not just to learn more about myself or turn everything into some emotional reflection. I actually want this to be fun. I want to see what comes out when I stop overthinking what is worth publishing and just give myself permission to write.

So, what is Blogtober?

For me, Blogtober is simply a challenge to write every day about anything I can think of.

I liked the idea of creating something daily, but vlogging is not really for me. It feels like too much work, and honestly, writing has always been the thing I’m most comfortable doing. That’s also one of the reasons I started this blog in the first place.

If you’ve been reading some of my recent posts, you probably already know that I’ve been trying to distance myself from social media for a while now. I have talked about some of the reasons in a previous post, especially how I keep going back even when I know I want a different relationship with it.

Aside from constantly rethinking how I want to build my online presence these days, I have also been updating my website and figuring out what I actually want it to become.

Having a personal blog without one very specific niche can feel a little tricky sometimes. There is always that pressure to narrow things down, choose one topic, and make everything fit neatly under it.

But I don’t really want to do that.

Instead, I would rather refocus this space around sharing more of my own thoughts and experiences about whatever feels worth writing about. Not just tech. Not just freelancing. I also want to write about the little things happening behind the scenes, especially the parts of life that don’t usually make it onto social media.

I also want to become more searchable instead of always feeling like I have to be everywhere just to stay visible.

That’s where Beyond the Feed comes in.

This part of my blog is for the things I usually don’t share on social platforms. It can be about managing tech for business, freelancing, work, things I’m watching or reading, relationships, habits, social media, offline life, random realizations, or just whatever happens to be on my mind.

Basically, anything I genuinely feel like writing about.

The whole point of Blogtober is to give myself more room to write freely and build the habit of publishing without turning every post into a strategy.

I have never really been the type to share too much about myself personally, but I might break that rule a little this month. And if it feels right, maybe I will keep sprinkling more of that into the blog even after October.

One of the reasons I don’t enjoy sharing too much on social media is because the reaction feels immediate. People see it right away, and you are very aware that they are seeing it right away.

Blogging feels different.

It’s slower, quieter, and somehow gives me more room to think. I feel much more comfortable writing here than trying to package every thought into a post for a social platform.

So I don’t know if I will actually manage to publish every single day this month, especially since I’m starting late.

But I want to see what happens if I try.

This is Day 1.
